Digital radiography plays a vital role in diagnostic images. With our on-site digital x-ray machine we can view high quality x-rays moments after taking them. This allows our staff to expedite your visit and get your pet feeling more comfortable sooner. Also, this technology limits your pets’ exposure to radiation, making their trip as safe as possible.
Ultrasound is commonly used in veterinary medicine as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. It is minimally invasive technology that gives the pet owner and the veterinarian a great deal of information about the patient quickly and safely. Patients do not require sedation or anesthesia for a routine ultrasound exam, and it is painless. Ultrasound provides real-time imaging, making it a good tool for guiding minimally invasive procedures such as needle biopsies. This can often avoid the need for exploratory surgery to obtain information. Please call one of our staff to see if an ultrasound is right for your pet.
Our in-house laboratory allows us to diagnose your pet with very little wait time. The staff at Granite City Pet Hospital knows how stressful having a sick pet can be. To help limit the stress we can perform in-house complete blood count (CBC), blood chemistry and many other diagnostic tests to help pin point the cause of your pet's illness. Uncovering disease before it's too late will allow us to provide appropriate treatment and recommendations to help your pet recover from illness.
Our Staff will counsel your family on the many nutritional diet options that are available to pet owners including Hill's Prescription Diet, Eukanuba, and Royal Canin Veterinary Diets.
The prescription formula options are used to help control urinary crystals, kidney disease, diabetes, weight loss, and many other conditions. Please consult with one of our staff to find the diet that fits your pet's needs.
